INSTALLING COX SECURITY SUITE PLUS

Get started in a few easy steps

Your Cox Security Suite Plus is compatible with Windows, Mac OS and smartphones/tablets. Here’s how you can get set up:

  1. Click here to start your download. A separate window will open so that you can refer back to these instructions at any time.

  2. Sign in with your Cox User ID and Password. For more info, see Understanding Digital Identities and Account Types
Note: when installing Cox Security Suite Plus for the first time, an activation page will pop up before sending you to your McAfee My Account page.

  3. From your McAfee My Account page, select PC from the drop-down menu, then click Download.

  4. Click Agree and Download to confirm that you have read and accepted the Intel Security (McAfee) License Agreement.

  5. Click Download and then click Save File.
Note: if you’re using a non-Microsoft browser, write down the serial number that you see to use when prompted during the installation process.
Note: if the serial number isn’t used within two hours, you’ll need to restart this process.

  6. On the Installer File pop-up window that appears, click Open.

  7. Select either Complete Install or Custom Install, then click Next.
Note: use Custom Install if there are features you don’t want to install.
Note: a pop-up may appear asking you to allow changes. Click Yes to allow them.

  8. The download process will begin. Once complete, your computer will be protected.

  3. From your McAfee My Account page, select Mac from the drop-down menu, then click Download.

  4. Click Agree and Download to confirm that you have read and accepted the Intel Security (McAfee) License Agreement.

  5. Click Download and then click Save File.
Note: make sure to write down the serial number to use when prompted during the installation process.


  6. Do the following:

    a. Click Download.
 Result: The McAfeeMacInstaller pops-up.

    b. Click Open on the McAfeeMacInstaller.

    c. Enter your Mac administrator Username and Password.

    d. Enter the serial number from step 5.
    
e. Click Next.
 Result: software installation begins.

  7. Once the download is complete, click Finish.
Result: a confirmation pop-up displays to install WebAdvisor.

  8. Select an option to complete installation.

    a. Click Install.
 Result: WebAdvisor is downloaded and installation is complete.

    b. Click Don’t Install.
 Result: installation is complete.

  3. From your McAfee My Account page, select Mobile from the drop-down menu, then click Download.

  4. Choose one of these options to get a download link and instructions for installation.

    a. On the Email tab, enter your email address and click Email me.

    b. On the Mobile tab, enter your mobile phone number and click Text me.
Next, click OK on the confirmation window that pops up.

  5. On your device, open the email or SMS message that you receive, then complete the following:
    
a. Select your device type and make sure the box next to the License Agreement is checked.
 Result: the McAfee Mobile Security app displays in the Apple App store or Google Play store.
Click Install.

  6. Open the app and create a six-digit PIN
Important: This PIN is required to unlock or remove the app from the device.

MANAGING COX SECURITY SUITE PLUS

Make changes to your protected devices

The McAfee My Account portal makes it easy to manage your Cox Security Suite Plus subscription.

From the portal, you can do these things:

  • Add and remove devices
  • Reinstall software
  • Manage mobility security settings when your device is lost or stolen
  • Deactivate licenses for any connected device

Deactivating or uninstalling Cox Security Suite Plus

Because Cox Security Suite Plus can only be activated on five devices at once, you may need to deactivate and uninstall it from your other devices. Here’s how you can do it.
